in the void...

i stretched - my arms 

and found the ends of us 

seeking to hang on, 

clawing at the edges 

of this life 

we were both standing in this void 

- a cliff of hopelessness 

crucified by this illness 

and in that moment, 

you finally let go... 

opened your wings and flew: 

the beauty of you unfolding 

in slow Grace 

as i freed you 

first, from my mind 

then, from our shared heart ache
